Pam has tagged me, so here it is
Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to the person who tagged you once you’ve posted your three sentences.
The closest book is Medically Important Fungi (my husbands, not mine). So, I’ll assume you meant the nearest fiction book. That happens to be The Singing Stones by Phyllis A. Whitney. Its pretty good so far..
“He closed his eyes as though he wanted to shut everything away, and he made no effort to answer his daughter. Paul wheeled him away, while Jilly stared after him darkly. “He doesn’t care!”
Okay. I’ll tag Carat, Cynthia, Mama Moose, Gina B, and nomadshan.
I know tags annoy some people, but this one was kinda fun. So, pass on the tag, or let it stop here - your choice.

Awww, c’mon! You don’t think we’d find a passage from Medically Important Fungi interesting?
Thanks for the tag … Unlike SOME people, I’m not so popular, so I love the attention! Thanks for giving me something to blog about.
Mama Moose
I don’t know–I think Medically Important Fungi would have been fascinating. I hear it was much better than it’s sequel, Medically Unimportant Fungi. That one was just a snooze-fest!
*rolling eyes*
Okay, since all think it was a gripping medical thriller….
“On routine primary media, yeast cells are round to oval. On cornmeal-Tween 80 agar at 25 degrees C for 72 h, C. kefyr forms pseudohyphae with elongate blastoconidia that characteristically line up in parallel, giving the appearance of “logs in a stream”. See Table 3 for the differentiation of yeastlike genera and Table 4 for characteristics of the most commonly encountered species of Candida.”
The next book over on the shelf is “Tumors of the Adrenal”. You know, I’m starting to think that there’s a reason I can’t write fiction in this room….
I think you made a good choice in your tag selection.
I mean I really don’t have any desire to see Table 3, but I’d like to know what happens to Jilly.
Have a great day!
